Ingredients
  

For the Chocolate Base
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips (60% to 70% cocoa)
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • to taste cups sugar
For the Edible Blood Drizzle
  • ΒΌ cup corn syrup
  • few drops red food coloring
  • to taste chocolate syrup or powdered sugar
For Serving
  • to taste whipped cream

Method
 

Chocolate Base Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, pour in whole milk and heavy cream. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until warm, about 4–5 minutes.
  2. Add dark chocolate chips, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt to the saucepan. Stir continuously for another 4–6 minutes until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Taste and add sugar as needed to achieve desired sweetness.
Prepare Edible Blood Drizzle
  1. In a separate bowl, mix corn syrup with red food coloring and chocolate syrup or powdered sugar until thick and glossy.
Presentation Steps
  1. Rim the mugs with cocoa powder or red sanding sugar by moistening the rim with water or corn syrup, then dipping into the powder.
  2. Pour the hot chocolate mixture into each mug, leaving about an inch at the top.
  3. Top each mug with whipped cream, piping it high.
  4. Drizzle the edible blood over the whipped cream for a spooky finish.
