Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large oven-safe skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.
  3. Add 1 cup of diced yellow onion and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Stir in 10 ounces of shredded green cabbage and ½ teaspoon of sea salt, cooking for 5-6 minutes.
  5. Mix in 2 minced garlic cloves and cook for an additional minute.
  6. Lower the heat to medium-low and add a 20-ounce bag of frozen hash browns and 1½ cups of shredded Irish cheddar cheese.
  7. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded Irish cheddar cheese over the top and return to the oven for an additional 4-5 minutes.
  9. Remove the skillet from the oven and top with 2 chopped green onions.
