Preparation Steps
- Slice the round loaf of traditional Muffuletta bread in half horizontally.
- Evenly distribute the assorted cured Italian meats across the bottom half of the sliced bread.
- Layer provolone cheese slices over the piled meats, followed by mozzarella cheese slices.
- Spread olive salad evenly over the cheese layer.
- Sprinkle freshly ground black pepper and dried oregano over the olive salad.
- Lightly drizzle olive oil over the top half of the bread.
- Gently press down on the sandwich to combine the layers and wrap it tightly.
- Refrigerate the wrapped sandwich for at least 30 minutes.
- Once chilled, unwrap the sandwich and slice it into wedges.
