Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add 1 pound of trimmed green beans to the skillet and sauté for 4–5 minutes.
  3. Push the green beans to one side and add 8 ounces of sliced mushrooms to the cleared space. Cook for 5–6 minutes.
  4. Stir mushrooms and green beans together, then add 2 cloves of minced garlic and 1 teaspoon of fresh thyme leaves. Sauté for 1–2 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste, mixing well.
  6. Remove from heat and transfer the sautéed mixture to a serving dish.
