Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Karpatka Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water with ½ cup of unsalted butter and bring to a rolling boil.
  3. Quickly add 1 cup of all-purpose flour all at once, stirring vigorously until a cohesive dough forms.
  4. Add 4 large eggs to the dough one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  5. Grease a baking dish and spread the pastry dough into it, smoothing the surface.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffy.
