  1. Begin by placing the two boneless skinless chicken breasts in a large pot, ensuring they sit in a single layer for even cooking.
  2. Next, sprinkle 1 teaspoon of salt and ½ teaspoon of black pepper over the chicken. Then, add the crushed garlic cloves, sliced onion, and bay leaves.
  3. Pour enough water into the pot to cover the chicken breasts by at least an inch.
  4. Place the pot on the stove over medium-high heat and bring the water to a gentle boil.
  5. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a lid. Allow the chicken to simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
