  • ½ cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Fresh strawberries sliced
For the Coating

  • 2 large Eggs beaten
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
For Frying
  • 2 cups Oil neutral, like vegetable or canola
  • ½ teaspoon Cinnamon optional

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • hand mixer
  • shallow bowls
  • Deep pan
  • Cooking thermometer
  • Slotted spatula

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Blend until creamy and smooth, about 2–3 minutes.
  2. Take 2 slices of bread and spread the cream cheese mixture on each. Layer sliced strawberries and cover with remaining bread to form sandwiches.
  3. Create a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with cinnamon. Coat each sandwich in flour, then egg, and finally breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep pan. Ensure oil is ready by checking for sizzle with a dropped breadcrumb.
  5. Carefully place sandwiches in hot oil, frying each side for about 2–3 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Remove sandwiches with a slotted spatula and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil. Allow to cool slightly before slicing.
