Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of chocolate cake mix, ½ cup of melted butter, and 3 eggs. Mix until smooth.
  3. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and pour the cake batter evenly into it.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together 1 cup of powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 2 cups of chocolate syrup until smooth.
  5. Pour the chocolate syrup mixture over the cake batter without mixing it in.
  6. Sprinkle ½ cup of chocolate chips over the top.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the edges are firm and the center jiggles slightly.
  8. Check for doneness with a toothpick; it should come out with moist crumbs.
  9. Let the cake cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
