Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare three 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Whisk together all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  4. Gradually mix in boiling water to the batter until smooth.
  5. Distribute batter evenly into prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn them out onto wire racks to cool completely.
  8. Whip together mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form.
Layering the Cake
