- In a medium saucepan, combine whole milk and heavy cream. Heat over medium-low until warm, about 5 minutes.
- Add semi-sweet and white chocolate chips to the saucepan, stirring until melted and smooth, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract. Mix until sugar is dissolved.
- Add green food coloring until desired hue is achieved; stir well.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or color as needed.
- Pour hot chocolate into mugs, filling three-quarters full.
- Dollop whipped cream on top of each mug.
- Sprinkle crushed candy canes over the whipped cream.
- Optionally, add mini marshmallows on top.
