  • electric mixer
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • piping bag
  • Large round piping tip

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 200°F (93°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Beat egg whites in a clean mixing bowl on medium speed until foamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add cream of tartar and continue mixing until soft peaks form, approximately 2-3 minutes more.
  4. Gradually introduce granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time, while increasing mixer speed to high. Beat for 5-7 minutes until glossy and stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently mix in vanilla and almond extract using a spatula.
  6. Transfer meringue into a piping bag fitted with a large round tip.
  7. Pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheet for bodies (1.5 inches) and heads (1 inch).
  8. Optionally, pipe additional small circles on top of the head circles for hats.
  9. Bake for about 2 hours until completely dry to the touch.
  10. Turn off the oven and let the meringues cool inside for 1 hour.
  11. Carefully remove meringues from parchment using a spatula.
  12. Stack a smaller meringue head on top of a larger body.
  13. Attach mini chocolate chips as eyes and an orange candy for the nose using melted chocolate or icing.
  14. Place mini marshmallows as buttons and hats on the snowmen.
  15. Sprinkle with colored sprinkles or edible glitter.
  16. Serve and enjoy your Meringue Snowmen Cookies on a festive platter.
