Method

Making the Buns
  1. Prepare the Yeast Mixture by combining warm milk with sugar and adding active dry yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Mix the Dough Ingredients by combining flour and salt. Create a well for the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix to form a dough.
  3. Knead the Dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let the Dough Rise in a greased bowl covered with a cloth for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Cook the Sausage in a medium skillet until browned, then set aside to cool.
  6. Shape the Buns by dividing the risen dough into 12 pieces, filling each with sausage and mozzarella, and sealing them.
  7. Create Flower Shapes by pinching the top of each sealed bun to form petals.
  8. Second Rise by covering shaped buns and letting them rise for another 30 minutes until puffy.
  9. Preheat the Oven to 375°F (190°C).
  10. Brush the tops with egg wash and sprinkle with seeds if desired.
  11. Bake the Buns for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving.
