  • 1 whole Fresh whole-milk mozzarella use high-quality mozzarella for the creamiest texture
  • 1 loaf Fresh baguette opt for a crusty baguette
  • 2 tablespoons Extra-virgin olive oil
For the Toppings
  • ½ cup Pesto store-bought or homemade
  • 6 pieces Campari tomatoes slice thinly for best presentation
  • 2 tablespoons Balsamic glaze for ghost faces decoration

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and freeze mozzarella for 10 minutes.
  2. Slice baguette diagonally into ½-inch-thick slices.
  3. Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
  4. Bake baguette slices for 8-9 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Slice mozzarella into six ¼-inch-thick planks.
  6. Cut mozzarella slices into ghost shapes using a cookie cutter.
  7. Spread approximately 1 teaspoon of pesto on each crostini slice.
  8. Top each with a slice of tomato and a ghost-shaped mozzarella piece.
  9. Create ghost faces with balsamic glaze on mozzarella pieces.
  10. Top remaining crostini with another tomato slice and mozzarella scraps.
  11. Arrange crostini artfully and serve immediately.
