Step-by-Step Instructions

  2. Mix the dry ingredients together: flour, cocoa, espresso powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt.
  3. Combine the wet ingredients: sugar, oil, sour cream, egg, vanilla extract.
  4. Incorporate dry ingredients into wet, then add boiling water gradually until smooth.
  5. Bake the cake batter in the preheated oven for 24 to 28 minutes.
  6. Cool the baked cake on a wire rack for 15 minutes before removing from pan.
  7. Prepare the mousse mixture and let it chill for 1 to 1.5 hours.
  8. Whip the cold heavy cream until firm peaks form, then fold it into the chocolate mixture.
  9. Spread the mousse over the cooled cake and chill for at least 8 hours.
  10. Prepare the ganache and pour over the chilled mousse cake.
  11. Unmold the cake, garnish, and chill again for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
