Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by cleaning 1 pound of fresh mushrooms using a damp cloth. Slice them evenly to about ¼ inch thick.
  2. Create a dredging station. In one bowl, pour 1 cup of all-purpose flour. In a second bowl, beat 2 large eggs until frothy. In a third bowl, combine 1 cup of breadcrumbs with 1 teaspoon each of garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Take each mushroom slice and dip it into the flour, shaking off excess. Then immerse it in the beaten eggs.
  4. Press each mushroom slice into the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring a thorough coating.
  5. In a large frying pan, heat the oil to about 350°F (175°C).
  6. Carefully place the coated mushroom slices into the hot oil, frying for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fried mushrooms to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. Continue frying the remaining mushroom slices in batches.
  9. Serve your Fried Sliced Mushrooms immediately with ranch dressing for dipping.
