  • 8 oz Cheddar cheese cut into small squares

  • 1 pkg Refrigerated pizza dough
  • 2 tablespoon Baking soda
For Assembly and Topping
  • 1 large Egg beaten
  • to taste Sesame seeds optional
  • as needed Flour for dusting
  • as needed Cooking spray or oil for greasing
For Dipping
  • to taste Ketchup optional
  • to taste Mustard optional

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper and cooking spray or oil.
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until browned; season with salt and pepper.
  3. Roll out pizza dough into a flat rectangle and slice into 16 even squares.
  4. Place a scoop of the beef mixture and a square of cheddar in the center of each square; fold and pinch edges to seal.
  5. In a pot, boil 4 cups of water, stir in baking soda, and simmer; drop dough balls in for 30 seconds and then remove.
  6. Brush tops of pretzel bombs with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds if desired; place on prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Serve warm with ketchup or mustard for dipping.
